The 2011 summer racing season at Pocono Downs has attracted the best horses,trainers and drivers in the country. With some of the biggest daily purses ( approx:$160,000 per day) the competition has been fast and furious. Joe Pavia Jr sits 4th in the drivers standings at Pocono Downs in 2011 with 102 wins and 1,500,000 in purses earned as of Sept.1st. On the training side the stable is 7th in the standings with 27 wins and $400,000 at the meet. With 2 months till the final day of racing on November 12th we hope to close out the meet strong and conclude yet another good season at the Downs.

The Pavia Stable is once again on it's way to earning One Million dollars for the 4th consecutive year in 2011. As of September 1st the stable has earned just under $700,000.

Leading the way for the stable has been the consistent pacing mare Billie Bluechip. Billie Bluechip won her last start at the Meadowlands in 151:1 over a sloppy track to bring her 2011 earnings in excess of $80,000. She has $501,000 in lifetime earnings. BN Bad has had a good solid year winning 2 starts back in 150;1 and pushing his 2011 earnings to $85,000 for the season. The 3 year old gelding Tyler Hanover took a new lifetime mark of 150:4 at Pocono winning by 5 lengths. He has earned $87,000 in 2011.

The 2 year old pacing colt Steelhead Hanover (Bettors Delight) won his first lifetime start in a NYSS race at Yonkers in 156:3 over a sloppy track. He was also 2nd in another NYSS race at Yonkers Raceway cutting the mile in 153:4 just getting beat at the wire. He took a new lifetime mark in a over night race beating older horses in 152:3 at Pocono Downs. Steelhead Hanover has earnings of $54,000 as of Sept 1st. He has a bright future ahead for his connections.

The 2 year old pacing filly Arodasi (Western Terror) won her 2nd baby race in 156 with a last 1/4 in 27:1. After that race she was sick for about a month and we struggled getting her back to form. But once back on track she broke her maiden last week winning in 155. She will race in the Equinox series for 2 year olds at Pocono in late September.
